

To even get around that you have to use SAM anyway and fix your timestamps which defeats the entire purpose. It's why achievement threads with people posting their Steam profiles mean absolutely nothing. The same goes for anyone bragging about their completion rates or using it as proof in arguments because PC "proof" is as reliable as someone saying their source is their dreams.

Some mods even accidentally unlock achievements for you.

Now your Steam has achievements unlocked out of order and your account is pointless. Let's say you bought a game on GOG and decided you want it on Steam for some reason so you transfer your save over. True Steam Achievements is the only site I know of that tries to keep a "legit" list of people who obtain achievements on Steam and they're banning people constantly because of how easy it is to nullify your entire account. Not just the cheating aspect, it's extremely easy to accidentally unlock achievements out of order on PC that it's borderline impossible to keep yourself "legitimate" like on consoles.
